About This Tool

HTML Previewer is a free online tool that renders your markup as you type, so you can see the result without saving a file or starting a server. Paste or write HTML, and the Live Preview shows the finished page straight away at whichever screen width you pick.

It is the quickest way to answer what a piece of markup actually looks like: checking an email template a client sent over, trying a style change on a snippet before touching the real file, seeing how a block behaves at 375 pixels, or confirming that code from a forum post does what it claims. No local server, no editor, no deploy.

The preview runs in a sandboxed frame on an isolated origin, so a script in your markup cannot reach this site's cookies, storage or page. Nothing is uploaded either -- the markup never leaves your browser, which matters when the page is a client's template or an internal draft. Open in New Tab and Download build the same document locally.

How to Use HTML Previewer

1

Paste or write your HTML

Put the markup in the HTML to Preview box. A bare fragment is fine -- it is wrapped into a full document for you.

2

Pick a preview width

Choose Full width, tablet landscape, tablet, or mobile from Preview Width to see how the layout holds up at that size.

3

Watch it render

Update the preview as I type is ticked by default. Untick it and use Refresh Preview when you would rather decide yourself when it re-renders.

4

Take it further

Click Open in New Tab to view the page on its own, or Download .html to save it as preview.html. Clear empties the box and the preview together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool completely free?

Yes! All our tools are 100% free to use with no hidden costs, no registration required, and no credit card needed.

Is my data safe and private?

Absolutely. All tools run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

Can I use this tool offline?

Yes, once the page is loaded, the tool will continue to work even if you lose internet connection since it runs in your browser.

Is there a character limit?

There is no strict character limit, but very large amounts of text (100,000+ characters) may slow down your browser.

Can I use this for commercial projects?

Yes! All our tools are free for both personal and commercial use.

Will JavaScript in my HTML run in the preview?

Yes. The frame allows scripts, so interactive markup behaves as it would on a real page. What it cannot do is reach outside the frame: the preview runs on its own isolated origin, with no access to this site's cookies, storage or page content.

Is it safe to preview HTML I do not trust?

It is safer than opening the file locally, which would hand the code your file origin. The sandbox blocks same-origin access, so nothing in the markup can read anything belonging to this site. Scripts still execute, though, so treat it as a look at what the code does, not a security audit.

Can I preview a snippet with no doctype or html tag?

Yes, and that is the usual case. When the input has no html tag it is wrapped in a minimal document with a UTF-8 charset, a viewport meta tag and a plain system font, so the snippet renders the way it would inside a real page rather than with bare browser defaults.

Why do my images or stylesheets not load in the preview?

Because relative paths have nothing to resolve against -- the preview document has no address of its own. Switch those references to absolute URLs and they load normally. Inline styles and style blocks in the markup always work, since they need no external file.

How accurate is the mobile width preview?

It is a fair test of layout rather than of a device. Setting the width to 375 pixels makes your media queries and flexible layouts respond exactly as they would on a phone that size. It cannot reproduce touch behaviour, pixel density, or a mobile browser's own quirks.

Can I save the HTML from here?

Yes. Click Download .html and you get a complete, self-contained page saved as preview.html, including the wrapper if your input was only a fragment. There is no copy button on this page because the markup is already sitting in your input box, ready to select.
