About This Tool

JPG to PNG Converter is a free online tool that batch-converts JPG images into PNG files, right inside your browser. Choose up to 20 JPGs at once, then download each converted file individually or grab the whole batch as a single ZIP.

JPG compresses every time it is saved, which is fine for a finished photo but a problem once a file needs to go back into an editor, a print workflow, or anywhere lossy artefacts would compound. PNG re-saves without losing anything, which is why design tools, icon sets and many upload forms ask for it specifically even when the source photo started as a JPG. A single photo is easy to convert by hand; a folder of forty scanned pages, exported screenshots, or product photos that all need to become PNG is not -- picking every JPG at once and converting them together turns forty repeated conversions into one.

Every conversion happens on a canvas inside your browser: nothing is uploaded to this site or to any external service, so private photos, scans, or artwork that has not been published yet never leave your device. The one exception is Download All, which fetches a small, widely used library the first time you build a ZIP file -- the JPG-to-PNG conversion itself keeps working even without that request succeeding, and every converted file can still be downloaded on its own. Because PNG is lossless, the converted files are usually larger than the JPGs they came from; the batch limit is 20 files per session.

Converts up to 20 JPG files in one batch, so a whole folder finishes in one pass instead of one at a time.
Every converted file is genuinely lossless PNG -- there is no quality slider, because nothing needs to be discarded.
Decoding and re-encoding happen on a canvas inside your browser, so your JPGs are never uploaded to convert them.
Download each converted file individually, right from its row in the file list.
Download All builds a single ZIP of every converted PNG in one click.
Files that fail to convert are reported by name without stopping the rest of the batch.

How to Use JPG to PNG Converter

1

Choose your JPG files

Click Choose JPG Images and select up to 20 files at once -- add more later if you have not reached the limit.

2

Review or remove files

Check the file list before converting -- remove any file you added by mistake with the X button next to it.

3

Convert the batch

Click Convert All to PNG. Each file's row updates to Done as it finishes, or shows why it could not be converted.

4

Download your PNGs

Download files one at a time from their row, or click Download All (ZIP) to save every converted file together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool completely free?

Yes! All our tools are 100% free to use with no hidden costs, no registration required, and no credit card needed.

Is my data safe and private?

Absolutely. All tools run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

Can I use this tool offline?

Yes, once the page is loaded, the tool will continue to work even if you lose internet connection since it runs in your browser.

Can I use this for commercial projects?

Yes! All our tools are free for both personal and commercial use.

How many JPG files can I convert at once?

Up to 20 per batch. Add more with Choose JPG Images as long as you are under that limit; if you pick files that would push you over 20, only enough to reach the limit are added and the rest are skipped.

Can I download all the converted PNGs at once?

Yes. Once at least one file shows Done, Download All (ZIP) becomes available and saves every converted PNG in a single .zip file. It builds the ZIP with a small library fetched once from a CDN, so that one button needs a connection even though the JPG-to-PNG conversion itself does not.

Why is the PNG file bigger than my original JPG?

PNG is lossless: it keeps every pixel exactly instead of discarding detail the way JPEG does to save space. That accuracy costs file size, so a PNG converted from a JPG is usually larger than the JPG itself -- expected, not a bug.

Is there a quality setting for this conversion?

No, and there does not need to be. PNG has no lossy quality level to trade off; converting a JPG to PNG keeps every pixel the JPG already had.

One of my files failed to convert. What do I do?

Its row shows Failed instead of Done, and the rest of the batch keeps converting normally. This usually means the file was not really a JPG (a renamed file, for example) or was corrupted -- open it in an image viewer to confirm, then try again.

Is this different from the Image Format Converter tool?

Image Format Converter handles one image at a time between PNG, JPEG and WebP. This tool is built specifically for turning many JPGs into PNGs in one go, with per-file downloads and a single ZIP for the whole batch.
