About This Tool

Image Filters is a free online tool that applies adjustable visual effects to a photo and shows the result as you work. Move a slider or choose a preset, watch the preview update instantly, and download the filtered image when it looks right.

It suits the small jobs that do not need a photo editor: warming up a listing photo that came out flat, dropping a headshot to black and white so a team page looks consistent, fading a picture so white text stays readable on top of it, or blurring a background image behind a hero section. Web developers get something extra -- the page prints the matching CSS filter rule, ready to paste into a stylesheet.

Nothing is uploaded. The photo is drawn onto a canvas inside your browser and every filter is applied there, so the file never reaches this site or any other server. That keeps client work, family photos and unreleased product shots on your own device, and it means the preview keeps responding even when your connection drops.

Eight adjustable filters: brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia, blur, hue rotate and invert
Seven one-click presets including Black & White, Vintage, Warm and Faded
Live preview that redraws the full-size image as you drag each slider
Prints the matching CSS filter rule so you can copy the look into a stylesheet
Reset All Filters returns every slider to normal in one click
Saves as PNG, JPEG or WebP, and runs entirely in your browser

How to Use Image Filters

1

Choose your image

Click Choose Image and pick a PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF or BMP file. It appears under Live Preview at its real size, ready to work on.

2

Pick a preset or start from scratch

Choose one of the ready-made looks from the Preset menu, such as Black & White or Vintage. Leave it on Custom if you would rather set everything by hand.

3

Fine-tune with the sliders

Drag Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Grayscale, Sepia, Blur, Hue Rotate or Invert. The preview and the CSS equivalent line update on every move, and Reset All Filters starts you over.

4

Download the result

Pick PNG, JPEG or WebP under Output Format, then click Download Filtered Image. Clear empties the tool for the next photo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this tool completely free?

Yes! All our tools are 100% free to use with no hidden costs, no registration required, and no credit card needed.

Is my data safe and private?

Absolutely. All tools run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.

Can I use this tool offline?

Yes, once the page is loaded, the tool will continue to work even if you lose internet connection since it runs in your browser.

Can I use this for commercial projects?

Yes! All our tools are free for both personal and commercial use.

What filters can I apply to a photo here?

Eight, each on its own slider: brightness, contrast, saturation, grayscale, sepia, blur, hue rotate and invert. They stack, so you can combine them freely. Seven presets set several at once for common looks such as Black & White, Vintage and Faded, and you can adjust from there.

Does applying a filter reduce my image quality?

The filter itself only changes colour values, so nothing is lost there. The saved file depends on the format you choose: PNG keeps every pixel exactly, while JPEG and WebP re-encode the image at high quality. Pick PNG when the result will be edited again later.

Can I get the CSS filter code instead of a new image?

Yes. Under the preview the tool shows a CSS equivalent line, such as filter: contrast(150%) saturate(115%). Copy that into a stylesheet to apply the same look to an image on a web page, with no second file to host and no download at all.

How do I undo a filter I do not like?

Drag that one slider back to its starting value, or click Reset All Filters to return every control to normal at once. Choosing a different preset also overwrites the current settings. Your original file is untouched throughout, because the tool only ever changes the preview.

Which formats can I open and save?

You can open PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF and BMP files. The filtered result saves as PNG, JPEG or WebP, whichever you pick under Output Format. Animated GIFs load as a single still frame, because the filter is drawn onto a canvas rather than re-animated.

Does this work on a large photo from my camera?

Yes. The preview is drawn at the image's full pixel size, so a 24-megapixel photo keeps its dimensions when you download it. Very large files take a moment to redraw as you drag a slider, since all the work happens on your own device rather than a server.
