Find and Replace is a free online tool that swaps one piece of text for another across an entire document at once. Paste your text, type what to find and what to replace it with, and every match updates in a single pass -- no manual editing and nothing to install.
It earns its keep when the same change appears many times: renaming a product throughout a draft, fixing a typo you repeated for ten pages, swapping comma separators for tabs in a pasted list, or stripping a tracking parameter out of dozens of URLs. Doing that by hand is slow and easy to get wrong.
Everything runs inside your browser and your text is never uploaded to a server. That makes it safe for client work, unpublished drafts, or anything else you would rather not paste into a site you do not control. The replaced result stays on your device unless you choose to copy or download it.
Drop your content into the Input box. Live character, word, and line counts appear below it.
Type the text to search for in Find, and what should take its place in Replace With. Tick Case if capitalisation must match exactly.
Click Replace Text. Every match updates at once and the result appears below.
Use Copy for the clipboard or Download to save a file. Clear empties everything, including the Find and Replace With boxes, so you can start over.

Yes, once the page is loaded, the tool will continue to work even if you lose internet connection since it runs in your browser.
There is no strict character limit, but very large amounts of text (100,000+ characters) may slow down your browser.
Yes! All our tools are free for both personal and commercial use.
Only if you want it to be. By default it matches regardless of capitalisation, so searching for "color" also finds "Color". Tick the Case checkbox to require an exact match, which is useful when you're replacing code identifiers or proper nouns.
Yes. The replacement runs in your browser using the same matching engine built into every modern browser, so even a document with thousands of words processes almost instantly, and nothing is ever uploaded regardless of size.
No -- the Find field matches literal text only. Special characters like ".", "(", or "$" are treated as themselves rather than as regex symbols, so you don't need to escape anything; just type exactly what you want to find.
Nothing changes -- with no text to search for, the tool returns your input exactly as you typed it. Type something into Find before clicking Replace Text for the replacement to take effect.
Every match, all at once. Whether you have two occurrences or two hundred, clicking Replace Text updates every one of them in a single pass -- there's no option to replace just the first occurrence.
Yes. Leave the Replace With field empty and every match of your Find text is deleted from the result, which is a quick way to strip a recurring word, tag, or tracking parameter out of a block of text.
