Remove Duplicate Lines is a free online tool that deletes repeated lines from a list, keeping the first occurrence of each and preserving the original order. Paste your list, click Process Lines, and every line that appears more than once collapses down to a single copy.
It comes in handy when you've merged two contact lists and picked up the same email twice, exported a keyword list from two different tools with overlapping terms, pasted a spreadsheet column that repeats the same SKU or URL, or copied a list from a chat where someone pasted the same item more than once. Scanning for repeats by eye in a list of hundreds of lines is slow and easy to miss; this does it in one pass.
Everything runs inside your browser, so nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored anywhere. That matters if the list contains a client's contact details, an internal keyword strategy, or any data you would rather not upload to a site you do not control. The cleaned list stays on your device unless you choose to copy or download it.
Drop lines, keywords, emails, or rows into the Input box, one item per line.
Every line is compared exactly; repeats are removed, keeping the first copy of each.
The deduplicated list appears in the Result box, in its original order.
Use Copy for the clipboard or Download to save it as a .txt file. Clear resets both boxes.

Absolutely. All tools run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your data never leaves your device and is not sent to our servers.
Yes, once the page is loaded, the tool will continue to work even if you lose internet connection since it runs in your browser.
There is no strict character limit, but very large amounts of text (100,000+ characters) may slow down your browser.

Yes. "Apple" and "apple" are treated as different lines because the comparison is exact and case-sensitive. If your list mixes capitalization on what should be the same entry, convert it to one case first -- with the Text to Lowercase tool, for example -- before removing duplicates.
No. A line with a trailing space is treated as different from the same line without one, since the comparison checks the line exactly as typed. Trim stray spaces from your list first if you're not sure whether invisible whitespace is causing lines that look identical to survive as duplicates.
All blank lines collapse into a single blank line, the same as any other duplicate. If your list has several empty lines scattered through it for spacing, expect just one to remain in the result rather than all of them being removed or all of them staying.
The first. When the same line appears more than once, the earliest occurrence stays in place and every later repeat is dropped -- so if "apple" appears on lines 2 and 9, line 2 survives and line 9 is removed, keeping the list's original order.
Not with this tool -- it only removes duplicates and keeps the lines in their original order, without rearranging anything. If you also want the cleaned list arranged alphabetically, run the result through the Text Sorter afterward as a second step.
Yes -- the comparison runs in your browser using a standard deduplication method that handles large lists efficiently, so a few thousand lines process instantly. Extremely large pastes (tens of thousands of lines) may take a brief moment longer, but nothing is uploaded regardless of size.
